The Good

The SJCAM C200 Pro is impressively compact, measuring 68 x 34 x 26.5mm and weighing just 78g. Its lightweight build makes it easy to carry, whether clipped on, handheld, or tucked into a pocket. Despite its size, it feels solid and durable, which is especially important for outdoor activities. It’s waterproof up to 5 meters without a case and up to 30 meters with the included protective housing, allowing users to record confidently in wet environments.
The rear 1.3-inch touchscreen is responsive and provides access to key recording modes such as time-lapse, slow video, car mode, and loop recording. It also allows for playback and audio preview via the built-in speaker. When the touchscreen is unavailable due to the waterproof case, the camera’s physical buttons offer basic control, including starting and stopping recordings.

In terms of media handling, the camera supports standard H.264 and H.265 video codecs, which makes the footage compatible with most video editors. Wireless file transfers are available via the SJCAM app, which is a convenient option for users who don’t want to remove the microSD card.
The camera’s video quality is a highlight, with 4K recording at 30fps producing sharp and detailed visuals. The 135° ultrawide-angle lens captures expansive scenes with only minimal distortion. Built-in six-axis gyro stabilisation works well in motion-heavy situations like cycling and running, helping keep footage smooth. The SJCAM C200 Pro holds up surprisingly well in daylight, particularly when factoring in its price point.
Audio quality is also commendable, with the dual microphones clearly capturing voices and ambient sound from up to 3–4 meters away. This makes it suitable for vlogging and general outdoor use where natural audio capture is important. Just keep in mind that the first few seconds of footage recorded will likely be unusable as the “video started” notification will be heard clearly.
The Bad

While the SJCAM C200 Pro charges via USB-C, direct file transfers through this port are not supported. Users must either remove the microSD card or rely on wireless transfers via the app, which may be inconvenient for some. This needs to change for future models, regardless of the price point.
Another drawback is that the touchscreen becomes completely unusable once the camera is inside the waterproof case. Although the front and side physical buttons take over control, the interface can be confusing. The side buttons, in particular, don’t have a clear function for navigating back to the recording window, which may frustrate new users.

Indoor video quality is noticeably weaker compared to outdoor footage. Under warm artificial lighting, the image tends to suffer from reduced sharpness and visible judder during motion. Switching to cooler-toned lighting improves image quality, but indoor shots may still require post-production colour correction due to the camera’s cooler colour profile. This will be a disadvantage for creators who regularly film in varying lighting conditions.
Lastly, the lack of macro functionality limits its use in capturing close-up shots, although this is a common limitation in many action cameras. If you look at our sample shots and one sample video on the food, you can understand why it’s completely out of focus now.
SJCAM C200 Pro Verdict

The SJCAM C200 Pro has its uses but it’s ideally used just to help you get supplementary footage and nothing more. If you want something to vlog with good quality audio and video, or generally something better versatility, you can find better options among DJI’s, Sony’s, or GoPro’s inventory. However, keep in mind that those will definitely be more expensive than this SJCAM offering. The compact size and design is attractive but they definitely need to work on the UI more as it’s not exactly user-friendly.
At the end of our SJCAM C200 Pro review, I award this action camera with our Bronze Pokdeward.
